The Creality Ender-3 V4 Combo is a comprehensive multi-material 3D printing package that pairs the high-speed Ender-3 V4 printer with the Creality Filament System (CFS). This combination transforms the desktop printing experience by adding automated four-color printing, intelligent filament management, and an airtight storage environment. Shifting away from traditional multi-piece kit frames, the combo centers around a die-cast aluminum unibody gantry that ensures structural rigidity during high-acceleration prints.

Core Components & Features
The Creality Filament System (CFS) Box
The defining feature of the Combo package is the multi-material CFS unit. It serves three critical roles:
- Automatic Material Switching: Seamlessly unloads and loads different filament strands during a print to create intricate multi-colored or multi-material models without manual intervention.
- Airtight Dry Box: Sealed with rubber gaskets and equipped with desiccant slots, it maintains low humidity levels to protect hygroscopic filaments (like Nylon or PETG) from absorbing moisture.
- Smart RFID Detection: Automatically reads information from compatible Creality spools to identify color, material type, and remaining length, syncing the data directly to the slicer software.
High-Velocity Unibody Frame
The structural frame consists of an aerospace-grade, die-cast loop that eliminates joint wobbles and frame flexing. Paired with Input Shaping technology, the printer actively counteracts mechanical resonances, eliminating ghosting or ringing artifacts along the outer walls of the print.
Next-Gen Intelligent Calibration
The printer utilizes a suite of automated sensors to perform self-diagnostic checks before every print. It calculates a precise bed-leveling mesh and sets the exact Z-offset, eliminating the need for manual paper tests or leveling wheels.
Connectivity & Control Interface
- Power Requirements: 100–240V AC, 50/60Hz (900W maximum system draw when heating simultaneously).
- Data Transmission: Features an onboard Wi-Fi module for remote slicing, monitoring, and cloud queue management. A front-facing USB port is available for offline printing via flash drives.
- Expansion Ports: Includes dedicated data and power bus lines at the base of the machine to daisy-chain multiple CFS boxes together.
Material Compatibility & Optimization
- Hyper-PLA & Standard PLA: Optimized for high-speed performance (>300mm/s). Print with a nozzle temperature of 190℃ - 220℃ and a bed at 50℃ - 60℃.
- PETG: Provides excellent layer adhesion and impact strength. Best printed at 230℃ - 250℃ hotend and 70℃ - 85℃ bed temperatures.
- TPU 95A (Flexible): The short path of the direct-drive extruder seamlessly feeds flexible lines. Note: Flexible filaments should bypass the CFS internal feeding paths and be loaded directly via a standard external spool mount to prevent binding.
- Engineering & Composite Plastics (ABS, ASA, PA-CF): The hardened steel nozzle assembly easily tolerates temperatures up to 300℃. For warp-prone elements like ABS, adding an external enclosure or activating a draft-shield in the slicer is recommended to handle ambient drafts.
Usage & Maintenance Tips
- Purge Tower Management: Multi-color printing requires purging the old color from the nozzle during a transition. Optimize your slicer settings by adjusting the flush volumes or enabling "purge into infill" to reduce filament waste.
- Spool Compatibility: The CFS internal rollers are designed for standard sized spools. When using third-party cardboard spools, use printable plastic edge rings to prevent cardboard dust accumulation and ensure smooth rolling.
- PEI Plate Care: Avoid touching the textured printing area with bare hands, as skin oils degrade print adhesion. Clean the plate regularly with warm water and dish soap or a quick wipe of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA). Allow the bed to cool completely before removing prints; parts will release naturally as the metal contracts.
