The Dual Diaphragm Water Pump 12V 7.9L/Min is a heavy-duty, high-flow positive displacement diaphragm pump engineered for efficient fluid transfer, high-pressure agricultural spraying, marine washdown systems, off-grid water circulation, and automated misting installations. Driven by an efficient 12V DC permanent magnet motor and an integrated dual-chamber santoprene diaphragm assembly, it produces smooth, pulsation-damped liquid delivery up to a rated flow rate of 7.9 liters per minute (approx. 2.1 GPM). Featuring an integrated automatic pressure cutoff switch and self-priming capability up to several meters, this versatile pump operates safely even in dry-run scenarios without structural damage, delivering stable hydraulic pressure across diverse DIY, vehicle, and industrial watering applications.

Features
- Dual Diaphragm High-Flow Geometry: Dual-chamber displacement smooths hydraulic flow, decreases line pulsing, and pushes high volumes up to 7.9 L/min compared to standard single-head micro pumps.
- Integrated Pressure Demand Switch: Automatically powers off the electric motor when downstream line pressure reaches the cutoff threshold (e.g., closing a spray gun or ball valve) and restarts instantly upon opening.
- Reliable Self-Priming & Dry-Running: Capable of lifting liquid above tank levels without pre-flooding the line; withstands extended dry-running intervals without scoring or mechanical seizure.
- Vibration-Damping Mounting Feet: Soft elastomeric mounting tabs isolate motor resonance from vehicle frames, wooden decking, and plastic water tanks to keep operational noise low.
- Corrosion-Resistant Fluid Path: Built with high-grade synthetic polymer diaphragms and viton check valves compatible with water, agricultural pesticides, liquid fertilizers, and mild chemical washes.
Common Applications
- Agricultural & Garden Spraying: Backpack or ATV/tractor-mounted pesticide spray rigs, boom sprayers, and automated crop misting systems.
- RV, Camper & Marine Water Systems: Pressurized domestic freshwater distribution for sinks, onboard showers, and deck washdown setups.
- Solar & Off-Grid Irrigation: Drip-irrigation lines, hydroponics nutrient feeding, and small greenhouse watering systems driven by 12V battery banks.
- High-Pressure Cleaning & Washing: Portable vehicle washing kits, outdoor solar panel cleaning wands, and mobile HVAC coil wash equipment.
- Bulk Liquid Transfer: Rapid water transfer between storage barrels, IBC totes, and rainwater harvesting cisterns.
Usage Tips
- Inlet Filtration Requirement (CRITICAL):
- Diaphragm pumps rely on internal one-way check valves to create displacement suction. Always install an in-line sediment strainer/filter (50 to 80 mesh) on the water inlet line.
- Silt, sand, or plant particulates drawn from open tanks will lodge under the check valves, causing loss of prime, lower flow rates, or continuous cycling when the outlet is closed.
- Power Supply Sizing:
- When running from an AC-to-DC converter or benchtop power supply, use a regulated 12V DC power supply capable of at least 10A output.
- Diaphragm pump motors draw substantial inductive starting surge current (up to 8A–10A) when building maximum line pressure. Undersized power adapters (<6A>
- Hose & Fitting Installation:
- Use reinforced, thick-walled flexible PVC or braided tubing on the suction side to prevent hose collapse under strong negative vacuum.
- Secure all barb connections with stainless steel hose clamps to prevent air leaks, which can degrade self-priming performance.
- Pressure Switch Fine-Tuning: The central Allen bolt on the front pressure switch cover adjusts the cutoff threshold. Turn clockwise to increase cut-in/cut-out pressure or counterclockwise to lower it. Avoid over-tightening, as setting the cutoff beyond the motor's capability will prevent automatic shutoff and overheat the motor.
- Freeze Protection: Drain the pump chamber thoroughly before storing in freezing ambient temperatures. Trapped residual water will expand into ice, cracking the plastic pump head assembly.
