This premium eSUN PLA+ (Polylactic Acid Plus) filament is a high-grade, bio-sourced 3D printing material engineered to outperform standard PLA in structural strength, layer adhesion, and toughness. Featuring a deep, vibrant RGB Red pigment formulation, this 1.75mm wire profile comes wound on a 1kg (2.2 Ibs) spool. It drops directly into any standard Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) desktop printer, making it a favorite for functional prototyping, mechanical brackets, cosplay accessories, and visually striking display models.

Features
- Advanced Impact Resistance: Formulated with special elongation modifiers that make it up to 10 times tougher than brittle standard PLA. It flexes slightly under load instead of instantly snapping under mechanical stress.
- Superior Interlayer Fusion: The modified chemical backbone enhances bond cohesion between layers during extrusion, preventing the model from easily splitting or delaminating along the Z-axis under pressure.
- Strict Dimensional Consistency: Manufactured with a tight ± 0.02mm diameter control array to prevent common feeding anomalies, such as under-extrusion gaps, heat-creep clogs, or nozzle jams.
- Low Warp & High Stability: Exhibits minimal thermal contraction during cooling loops, meaning parts hold fast to the print surface without warping corners, making it safe to print large footprints without a heated chamber enclosure.
Common Applications
- Functional Prototyping & Jigs: Fabricating snap-fit parts, structural brackets, enclosures, and factory assembly jigs that require high rigidity and minor impact absorption.
- Cosplay Armor & Props: Building large-scale props, mechanical helmets, and wearable accessories that benefit from the bold RGB Red base finish.
- Replacement Machinery Parts: Printing gears, handles, knobs, and custom tool holders for workshop and garage organization arrays.
- Educational Display Models: Producing geometric shapes, medical anatomy demonstrations, and architectural mock-ups with high-contrast visibility.
Professional Tuning & Usage Tips
- Calibrate for Higher Hotend Heat: Because of its structural additive formulation, eSUN PLA+ requires slightly higher hotend temperatures than generic PLA. While standard PLA prints cleanly at 190°C - 200°C, eSUN PLA+ performs best between 210°C and 220°C. Printing too cold will trigger severe under-extrusion clicks and weak layer adhesion.
- Maximize Part Cooling Fans: To capture clean overhang angles and sharp details, run your dual part cooling fans at 100% power starting immediately after the second layer. Rapid cooling locks the molten RGB Red resin in place before it can droop or sag.
- Optimize First Layer Adhesion: Set your heated bed surface to 55°C - 60°C Clean the print plate with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) before starting the print routine to strip away skin oils. For textured PEI steel spring plates or glass beds, a light wipe of PVA glue stick or specialized bed adhesive ensures warp-free adhesion.
- Implement Strict Desiccant Storage: Although PLA+ is more resilient than Nylon or PETG, it is still hydroscopic and will slowly pull moisture from room humidity over time. Wet filament causes popping sounds in the nozzle, stringing webs across gaps, and brittle structures. When not in active rotation, store the spool inside a sealed vacuum bag with a silica gel desiccant pack or run it through a dedicated filament dry box at 50°C for 4 hours.
