The eSUN PLA-Wood Aspen Wood 1.75mm 1kg 3D Printer Filament is an aesthetic composite 3D printing filament formulated to replicate the clean, pale tone and fine fibrous texture of natural aspen timber. Blending premium polylactic acid (PLA) with fine organic wood flour and advanced foaming micro-structures, this filament yields a distinctive matte, non-reflective finish that virtually conceals layer lines. The finished models can be post-processed like genuine timber—allowing for easy sanding, carving, drilling, and staining to achieve realistic woodcraft results.

Features
- Natural Aspen Timber Aesthetic: Infused with natural plant-based wood fibers that deliver a light blonde, matte wood grain appearance with a tactile, organic surface texture.
- Excellent Layer Concealment: The natural light-scattering properties of the wood composite effectively diffuse reflections and mask horizontal layer lines for a carved, solid-wood look.
- Effortless Sanding & Staining: Parts can be treated like real woodwork—easily shaped with sandpaper, files, or rotary tools, and readily absorbs wood stains, oils, and clear coats for customized shading.
- Subtle Temperature Color Variation: Adjusting extrusion temperature slightly during printing (between 190°C and 220°C) produces subtle tonal shifts, allowing users to simulate realistic natural wood rings and growth grain.
- Low Warping and Strong Bed Bonding: Low thermal shrinkage ensures flat, reliable first-layer adhesion to textured PEI sheets, glass beds, and PC surfaces without corner lifting.
- Eco-Friendly with Pleasant Aroma: Emits a natural, pleasant wood workshop scent during extrusion, completely free from harsh chemical odors.
- Neat Precision Machine Winding: Layer-by-layer spool winding prevents overlaps, snags, and knots during long-duration prints.
Common Applications
- Artistic Sculptures & Figurines: Printing carved-style statues, decorative busts, tabletop gaming scenery, and traditional-style figurines.
- Architectural & Interior Mockups: Fabricating scale building models, interior design prototypes, landscape dioramas, and organic architectural accents.
- Home Décor & Acoustic Products: Crafting decorative planter pots, desk caddies, retro-style speaker housings, lamp bases, and custom picture frames.
- Cosplay Props & Vintage Replicas: Building realistic wand replicas, antique tool handles, knife grips, and wearable artisan accessories.
Professional Installation and Maintenance Tips
- Use a 0.4mm or 0.6mm Nozzle: A standard 0.4mm nozzle works well, but a 0.5mm or 0.6mm nozzle provides superior flow reliability and prevents potential micro-fiber clogs during long continuous prints.
- Prevent Hotend Heat Soak: Avoid leaving the nozzle heated at print temperature while idle, as stagnant wood fibers can char inside the melt zone and cause blockages.
- Post-Processing for Contrast: For dramatic wood texture, progressively sand parts (150 to 400 grit) and apply a dark oil- or water-based wood stain; the porous sanded wood fibers will absorb the pigment deeper to reveal simulated wood grain.
- Store Dry to Maintain Print Quality: Wood composites are hygroscopic and absorb atmospheric moisture more readily than standard PLA. Store the spool in a sealed vacuum bag with silica desiccant, or pre-dry at 45°C to 50°C for 4 to 6 hours if stringing occurs.
