Product Details

The LED 5mm White Clear Pack Good Quality (1000Pcs) is a high-volume supply of standard T-1 3/4 (5mm) through-hole light-emitting diodes engineered for high-visibility indicator panels, custom illumination arrays, emergency lighting, backlighting, and commercial electronics manufacturing. Utilizing high-efficiency InGaN (Indium Gallium Nitride) semiconductor die technology paired with a crystal-clear, non-tinted epoxy lens, each diode produces a focused, high-intensity 6000K–6500K daylight white beam with luminous output ranging from 12,000 to 16,000 mcd at a tight 20° to 25° beam angle. With high luminous efficacy, standard 2.54mm lead pitch, and low power requirements (3.0V–3.2V, 20mA), this bulk pack is tailored for large-scale production, maker laboratories, and educational STEM robotics kits.

Features

  • Ultra-High Luminous Output (Up to 16,000 mcd): Emits a concentrated, high-intensity white beam that provides high daylight visibility and long-range throw compared to standard diffused LEDs.
  • Optical Water-Clear Lens: High-transmittance crystal epoxy lens ensures maximum photon transmission with sharp directional projection.
  • High-Efficiency InGaN Semiconductor Die: Delivers high energy conversion efficiency with low forward voltage drop (3.0V–3.2V) and stable thermal characteristics.
  • Clear Physical Polarity Indicators: Features standardized lead-length differentiation (long anode) and a distinct flat notch on the cathode rim of the plastic casing to prevent assembly errors.
  • High-Capacity 1000-Piece Bulk Reel/Bag: Cost-effective volume packaging optimized for educational lab inventories, PCB assembly lines, and high-density signage projects.

Common Applications

  • Flashlights & Emergency Lighting: Primary illuminator for DIY torches, solar lanterns, power-outage emergency backup lights, and headlamps.
  • Illuminated Signage & Channel Letters: Matrix backlighting for acrylic channel letters, lightbox displays, and architectural scale models.
  • High-Visibility Status Indicators: Daytime-visible status beacons, security alarm warning lights, and power supply on-state indicators.
  • Automotive & Model Vehicle Lighting: Headlights and cabin interior accent lighting for RC cars, drones, model trains, and custom instrument clusters.
  • Microcontroller & STEM Prototyping: Breadboard experimentation, optical sensor alignment, and display arrays driven by Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi.

Usage Tips

  • Current-Limiting Resistor (MANDATORY): White InGaN LEDs exhibit an exponential current rise once forward voltage exceeds 3.0V. Never connect directly to a 5V or 12V supply rail without a series current-limiting resistor:
    • Calculate using: R = (VSupply - VF) / IF
    • For a 5V DC Supply (IF = 15 mA, VF = 3.1 V): R = (5.0V - 3.1V) / 0.015A ≈ 126.7 Ω → Use a standard 130Ω to 150Ω (1/4W) resistor.
    • For a 12V DC Supply (Single LED at 15 mA): R = (12.0V - 3.1V) / 0.015A = 593 Ω → Use a standard 620Ω to 680Ω (1/4W) resistor.
    • For a 12V DC Supply (3 LEDs in Series at 15 mA): R = [12.0V - (3 × 3.1V)] / 0.015A = 2.7V / 0.015A = 180 Ω → Use a standard 180Ω (1/4W) resistor.
  • Direct 3.3V Logic Driving: When powering directly from 3.3V microcontrollers (ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico), place a small 10Ω to 22Ω resistor in series to protect the GPIO driver pin from current spikes (Imax ≈ 12 mA).
  • Identifying Polarity:
    • Positive (+ / Anode): Longer lead wire.
    • Negative (- / Cathode): Shorter lead wire, flat-notched edge on the epoxy lens skirt, and larger anvil flag inside the clear package.
  • Soldering Precautions: Maintain iron temperature between 260°C and 300°C and complete soldering within 3 seconds per pin. Avoid applying mechanical bending force directly at the epoxy base while the leads are heated.
  • Optical Safety Warning: Due to the high luminous intensity (16,000 mcd focused beam), avoid staring directly into the bare LED lens at close range during high-current operation to prevent temporary flash blindness.
