The RV2-6 Pre-Insulated Ring Crimp Terminal Connector (AWG 16–14 / 1.5–2.5 mm² / M6 / 1/4" Stud) is an industrial-grade wire termination lug engineered for secure, vibration-proof electrical connections to screw posts, terminal barrier strips, and grounding studs. Fabricated from high-conductivity electrolytic copper with corrosion-resistant matte tin plating, it features an industry-standard blue vinyl (PVC) insulation sleeve for color-coded wire identification and dielectric protection. Sized with an inner ring diameter of 6.4 mm to 6.5 mm (accommodating M6 / 1/4-inch metric and imperial studs), the RV2-6 provides low contact resistance, high pull-out tensile strength, and rated continuous current handling up to 27A across automotive harnesses, power supplies, industrial control panels, robotics, and AC mains wiring.

Features
- High-Conductivity Tinned Copper Core: Ensures maximum electrical efficiency, minimal voltage drop, and high resistance to oxidation in humid or marine environments.
- Enclosed Ring Tongue Design: Stays securely captured under screw heads or nuts, preventing accidental disconnection even under extreme mechanical vibration.
- Standard Blue Color Coding: Provides immediate visual identification for 16–14 AWG wire sizes during panel assembly, maintenance, and wiring audits.
- Funneled Insulation Barrel: Features an internally tapered entry to ensure smooth, snag-free wire strand insertion without splaying conductors.
- Serrated Crimp Barrel: Internal serrations bite into the wire strands during crimping to achieve high tensile pull-out strength and gas-tight electrical contact.
Common Applications
- Industrial Control Panels & PLCs: Secure power and signal wiring to heavy-duty barrier terminal blocks (e.g., HB950 series) and DIN rail terminals.
- Automotive & Marine Electrical: Connecting 12V/24V battery ground straps, alternator lines, fuse blocks, and auxiliary lighting circuits.
- Chassis Earth / Protective Grounding: Bolting grounding wires directly to metallic chassis panels, motor frames, and power supply enclosures via M6 studs.
- Power Inverters & Battery Banks: Interfacing auxiliary charge lines and DC power distribution rails in solar and UPS systems.
- Robotics & High-Current Prototyping: Terminating power leads to DC motor controllers, relays, and high-power contactor studs.
Usage Tips
- Proper Wire Stripping: Strip approximately 6 mm to 7 mm of insulation from the 16–14 AWG wire so all bare strands enter the copper barrel without protruding past the ring face.
- Ratchet Crimping Tool Selection: Use a calibrated ratcheting crimping tool with a dedicated Blue Die Cavity (1.5–2.5 mm² / 16–14 AWG). Avoid using standard flat pliers, as they will crush the insulation unevenly and fail to create a reliable gas-tight crimp.
- Orientation & Fastening: Place the flat bottom of the ring directly against the conductive terminal pad or metal chassis, and tighten the M6 screw or nut with a lock washer (split or star) to prevent vibration-induced loosening.
- Mechanical Pull Test: After crimping, perform a light manual tug test to verify that the wire is mechanically locked and cannot be pulled from the terminal barrel.
- High-Vibration Environments: When used in high-vibration automotive or industrial environments, apply a section of dual-wall adhesive-lined heat shrink tubing over the crimp barrel for enhanced strain relief and moisture ingress protection.
