The Type-C 4-Way Ultrasonic Mist Maker Module is a high-output, multi-channel fog generator board designed to drive up to four piezoelectric ceramic atomizing discs simultaneously. Powered via a modern USB Type-C connector or onboard direct solder pads, this driver board converts low-voltage DC power into high-frequency electrical oscillations (approx 108kHz - 110kHz). When paired with microporous ceramic transducer rings, it transforms water into a fine mist without generating heat, making it an ideal core component for custom DIY humidifiers, plant terrariums, vivariums, and decorative stage foggers.
Specification
- Driver Board Operating Voltage: DC 5.0V ( ± 0.25V)
- Power Supply Interface: USB Type-C female socket + DC 5V / GND direct solder pads
- Total Power Consumption: 6W - 10W (Depending on how many channels are firing simultaneously; approx 1.5W - 2.5W per active disc)
- Operating Current Draw: Up to 1.2A - 2.0A at full 4-channel capacity
- Resonant Driving Frequency: 108kHz ± 5kHz (Sweep frequency self-matching)
- Atomizer Disc Diameter: Standard 16mm or 20mm microporous piezoelectric discs (Steel plate outer ring diameter)
- Atomization Droplet Diameter: 3 - 5 μm ultra-fine cold mist particle profile
- Spray Output Rate: Approx 30 - 50 mL/h per active channel (Total combined output up to 120 - 200 mL/h)
- Channel Control Functionality: Multi-mode tactile push-button (Allows toggling between 1-way, 2-way, 3-way, full 4-way continuous misting, or dynamic alternating spray loops)
- Auto-Off Safety Timer: Integrated automatic shut-off protection (typically set to 4 to 8 hours depending on firmware iteration)
Features
- Multi-Channel Quad Atomization: Controls four independent piezoceramic driver output lines on a single compact driver board. This creates a balanced, high-density mist blanket far beyond what single or dual-disc humidifier modules can produce.
- Modern Type-C USB Integration: Powered via standard USB Type-C cables using 5V power adapters, power banks, or computer USB ports without needing external high-voltage AC transformers.
- Cold Ultrasonic Resonant Driving: Uses high-frequency mechanical vibration rather than heat to vaporize water molecules. This preserves ambient humidity safety around delicate plants or animals and prevents heat buildup in reptile enclosures.
- Microporous Mesh Transducer Design: The atomizing discs feature laser-drilled micro-holes in a central stainless steel plate. This produces ultra-fine 3-5 μm mist particles that float smoothly into the air rather than condensing into heavy water drops on surrounding surfaces.
- Multi-Mode Tactile Control Switch: The onboard micro-tactile button cycles through multiple operational modes (e.g., all 4 channels ON continuously, alternating pairs for extended water tank life, or timed pulse interval modes).
Common Applications
- High-Capacity DIY Room Humidifiers: Building custom high-output home or office air humidifiers using large water reservoirs.
- Reptile Vivariums & Exotic Terrariums: Maintaining precise humidity levels for tropical reptiles, amphibians, and moisture-loving indoor plants (like orchids, ferns, or mosses).
- Mushroom Cultivation & Mycology Chambers: Supplying continuous, fine moisture loops inside fruiting chambers to promote healthy mushroom growth without soaking the substrate.
- Stage, Tabletop & Fountain Fog Effects: Creating low-lying fog and mist effects for indoor decorative fountains, Halloween displays, or tabletop aquascaping setups.
Professional Usage & Integration Tips
- Supply a Full 5V / 2A Power Source: Running four atomizing discs at once draws significant power (up to 2A). Powering the board through an underpowered USB port (500mA) or thin, low-quality USB cables will cause voltage sags, leading to faint mist output, erratic channel behavior, or module resets. Always use a 5V AC power adapter rated for at least 2.0A - 2.5A.
- Observe Correct Transducer Disc Orientation: Microporous ceramic discs are directional. The side with the white silicon sealing ring and raised central metal dome must face upward toward the air, while the flat, absorbent cotton wick feeds water to the underside. Reversing the disc will cause water to pool on top of the plate, blocking mist production.
- Always Use Absorbent Cotton Wicks: Microporous mist discs must never be completely submerged underwater. They rely on capillary action through a spring-loaded cotton wick to bring water to the bottom face of the steel plate. Ensure the cotton wick presses firmly against the underside of the disc; gaps between the wick and the metal plate will stop mist generation and cause overheating.
- Use Clean / Distilled Water for Long Life: Mineral deposits from hard tap water (calcium and lime) can clog the micro-holes over time, reducing mist output. Use distilled, purified, or reverse-osmosis (RO) water to prevent clogging. If mist output drops, gently wipe the top surface of the metal plate using a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol or mild white vinegar-never scratch the metal face with sharp objects
