Product Details

The 170TP Blue Mini Solderless Breadboard (45 × 35 × 10 mm / 170 Tie-Points) is a compact, reusable prototyping socket board designed for quick circuit assembly and hardware testing without soldering. Constructed with an impact-resistant ABS plastic body in vibrant blue and internal phosphor bronze nickel-plated spring clips, it provides reliable electrical contact for standard through-hole electronic components and jumper wires. Featuring a standardized 0.1-inch (2.54 mm) pitch grid, self-adhesive backing tape, dual M2 mounting screw holes, and interlocking side tabs, it is widely utilized for Arduino prototyping shields, Raspberry Pi breakout modules, small DIY robotics, wearable electronics, and educational electronics projects.

Features

  • Solderless Rapid Prototyping: Easily plug and unplug standard through-hole components, ICs, transistors, resistors, capacitors, and LEDs without heat, flux, or soldering tools.
  • Standard 2.54mm Pitch: Fully compatible with DIP IC packages (e.g., 8-pin, 14-pin, 16-pin microcontrollers and op-amps) across its center dividing trough.
  • Modular Interlocking Design: Integrated male-female interlocking tabs along the edges allow multiple mini breadboards to snap together into larger custom prototyping surfaces.
  • Peel-and-Stick Adhesive Base: Heavy-duty foam adhesive tape allows firm attachment onto robot chassis, Arduino Proto Shields, project enclosures, or workbench organizers.
  • High-Tension Spring Clips: Nickel-plated phosphor bronze spring contacts maintain firm clamping force over thousands of insertions, preventing loose connections or signal intermittent faults.

Common Applications

  • Arduino & ESP32 Prototyping: Fits directly onto standard Arduino UNO / Mega proto-shields and expansion plates for testing sensor breakouts.
  • DIY Robotics & Rovers: Compact onboard circuit board for mounting motor drivers, pull-up arrays, and sensor interfaces on small robotic rovers.
  • STEM & Educational Labs: Classroom learning tool for demonstrating basic Ohm's law circuits, 555 timer oscillators, and logic gate experiments.
  • Wearable & Portable Electronics: Space-saving breadboard for micro projects using ATtiny85, Trinket, or Xiao development boards.
  • Sensor Interface Breakout: Rapidly creating custom pull-up/pull-down networks, voltage dividers, and filter circuits for analog and I2C/SPI sensors.

Usage Tips

  • Terminal Strip Arrangement: The 170 points are organized into two separate banks separated by a center divider. Each bank has 17 vertical columns of **5 interconnected tie-points** (each 5-hole column forms a single continuous electrical node). Note that mini 170-point breadboards do not have dedicated long power rails along the sides.
  • Recommended Wire Types: Use solid-core hookup wire (22–24 AWG) or square/round male DuPont jumper wires. Avoid forcing oversized component leads or thick stranded wires into the sockets, as this can permanently deform the internal spring clips.
  • IC Orientation: Standard DIP ICs (e.g., 8-pin DIP ATtiny85, NE555, LM358) should be placed straddling the center divider groove so each pin connects to an independent 5-point tie strip.
  • Power Distribution: Since there are no outer longitudinal power rails, designate one or two vertical 5-point columns for your common $V_{CC}$ (5V/3.3V) and Ground (GND) distribution rails.
  • Secure Chassis Mounting: Before sticking the breadboard to an enclosure or chassis using the adhesive base, clean the target surface with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to ensure maximum adhesive bonding.
