Usage Tips
- Protective Film Management (CRITICAL):
- Leave the protective paper or PE film in place during all laser cutting, CNC routing, and drilling operations.
- The protective mask prevents vaporized condensates, exhaust smoke, and hot slag from sticking to the glossy tinted surface. Peel off the film only after all cutting, edge deburring, and drilling steps are completed.
- Laser Power & Air Assist Calibration:
- Because dark transparent acrylic absorbs infrared laser energy (10.6 μm) very efficiently, it cuts faster and at slightly lower power levels than pure white or opaque acrylic.
- Maintain strong air assist (10 to 15 psi) during vector cutting to quickly extinguish flame flare-ups and prevent localized melting along the cut path.
- Drilling Recommendations: Use specialized plastic drill bits (with a 60° to 90° tip and negative rake) or dull the leading cutting edges of standard twist drills.
