Product Details

The UNI-T UT-210A is an ultra-compact, lightweight mini digital clamp meter engineered specifically for measuring AC current in tight or confined spaces. Boasting a high resolution ratio of 1mA and full-range overload protection, it is an essential pocket-sized tool for electricians, HVAC technicians, and electronics hobbyists who need to take quick, safe current readings without breaking the circuit.

(Note: While some retail listings broadly group the entire UT210 series together as "True RMS", the official factory datasheet clarifies that the UT210A relies on rectified average sensing calibrated to the RMS of a pure sine wave, whereas its sibling models like the UT210B/C/D/E feature full hardware True RMS).

  • Dimensions: 158mm x 60mm x 33.5mm
  • Weight: Approx. 150g (including batteries)

Key Features

  • Compact Mini Form Factor: At just 15.8cm in length, it fits effortlessly into a pocket or tool belt, allowing easy one-handed operation inside crowded breaker panels, complex wire looms, or industrial control enclosures.
  • Smart Auto-Ranging: Automatically selects the most appropriate current scale (2A, 20A, or 200A) to provide the highest possible resolution without manual switching.
  • Data Hold & Max Hold:
    • A quick press of the HOLD button freezes the current reading on-screen.
    • A press of the MAX button logs and holds the highest peak current captured during a measurement cycle.
  • Backlit LCD Display: Features a clear, high-contrast screen with an integrated white backlight that can be toggled on for effortless readability in dark spaces.
  • Power Conservation: To maximize battery life, the device features an Auto Power-Off (APO) function that automatically shuts the unit down after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • Safety Certifications: Complies with CE, UKCA, cETLus, CAT II 600V, and CAT III 300V safety standards with built-in double insulation.

Pin and Control Layout

  • Current Sensing Jaws: Clamps around a single live conductor to measure alternating electromagnetic fields.
  • Tactile Jaw Trigger: Ergonomic push-lever to easily open and close the 16mm clamp head.
  • HOLD / Backlight Key: Tap to freeze the display; press and hold for 2 seconds to turn the screen backlight on or off.
  • MAX Key: Captures the maximum current value encountered during measurement.
  • Rotary Function Switch: Turns the meter ON and switches directly between the 2A, 20A, and 200A modes, or turns it OFF.
  • LCD Screen: 2000-count digital readout displaying numerical values, units, and low-battery warnings.

Usage and Application Tips

  • Isolate a Single Wire: When using a clamp meter, you must clamp around only one wire (the hot/live wire or the neutral wire). If you clamp a combined two-wire power cord (like an extension cord containing both live and neutral wires), the opposing magnetic fields will cancel each other out, and the meter will read 0.00A.
  • Centering the Conductor: For the absolute highest measurement accuracy, open the jaw and align the wire directly in the geometric center of the clamp head (indicated by alignment marks on the jaws) rather than letting it rest against the side edges.
  • Low Battery Indicator: When the battery drops below 2.5V, a low-battery icon will appear on the display. Replace the AAA cells immediately when this happens, as low voltage can compromise calibration accuracy.
  • Disabling Auto-Power Off: If you need to perform long-term monitoring and want to stop the 15-minute auto-shutdown, turn the rotary switch to OFF, hold down the HOLD button, and turn the dial to any range. The meter will beep, indicating that APO is disabled until the next manual power cycle.
