The XL6019 5A Boost Converter is a high-power, non-isolated step-up power supply module designed to efficiently elevate lower DC input voltages to a higher, regulated output voltage. It features the upgraded XL6019 generation chip, which offers superior switching frequency, stability, and built-in safety protections compared to older XL6009 architectures. It is ideal for high-power electronics, battery step-up systems, and driving high-voltage peripherals.

Key Features
- Upgraded Control Architecture: Driven by the generation-optimized XL6019 IC, providing lower internal resistance and reduced thermal output compared to standard LM2577 or XL6009 boards.
- Massive Current Headroom: Capable of handling peak transient currents up to 5A, making it highly robust during inductive load startup surges.
- Wide Voltage Range Compatibility: Steps up ultra-low voltages (such as single-cell 3.7V Lithium batteries) easily into standard industrial 12V, 24V, or 36V rails.
- Onboard Protection Array: Features built-in over-temperature thermal shutdown, current limiting, and under-voltage lockout to secure the controller during overload states.
Common Applications
- High-Power Battery Boosting: Stepping up 12V automotive batteries or multi-cell lithium arrays to 19V, 24V, or 32V for laptops and high-voltage electronics.
- Solar Power Regulation: Adjusting fluctuating solar panel outputs up to a steady, predictable target voltage for charging storage cells.
- Industrial Automation Rails: Generating 24V logic supplies from lower 5V or 12V bus configurations.
- LED Driver Supplies: Providing high-voltage power lines for multi-series high-power LED lighting modules.
Usage Tips
- Pure Boost Functionality: This module can only step up voltage. The input voltage must always remain strictly lower than your desired output voltage setting. If the input exceeds the output setting, the voltage will pass through un-regulated, which can damage connected devices.
- Thermal Management Guidelines: When running continuous current loads exceeding 3A or total output power above 20W, you must attach an aluminum heatsink to the underside of the PCB or the chip housing. Forced air cooling (a small fan) is recommended for high-load installations to avoid thermal shutdown.
- Power Law Constraints: Remember that Input Power equals Output Power (plus efficiency overhead). If you boost a 5V input to a 24V output at 1A, the module will pull over 5A from your input power source. Ensure your input power supply or battery pack can handle this current load without dropping voltage.
