The eSUN PLA-Wood Walnut Wood 1.75mm 1kg 3D Printer Filament is a premium decorative composite filament engineered to capture the rich, dark, earthy tones and fibrous feel of natural walnut timber. Combining high-quality polylactic acid (PLA) with finely milled virgin wood fibers and advanced foaming technology, this filament produces a low-density, matte-textured surface that naturally diffuses light to conceal layer lines. Finished prints can be easily post-processed like authentic hardwood—including sanding, carving, staining, and varnishing—making it the perfect choice for artisanal craftwork, scale architectural prototypes, and vintage home décor.

Features
- Rich Walnut Hardwood Aesthetic: Infused with natural plant-based wood fibers that provide a warm, dark timber finish with an organic tactile feel and zero plastic glare.
- Superior Layer Line Concealment: The unique fibrous micro-texture and light-diffusing matte finish naturally disguise layer lines, giving completed models an authentic hand-carved appearance.
- Authentic Woodworking Post-Processing: Printed parts can be sanded, filed, drilled, sawed, and treated with oil- or water-based wood stains, varnishes, and sealants to achieve custom antique patinas.
- Temperature-Induced Tonal Variation: Adjusting the hotend extrusion temperature within the 190°C to 220°C range subtly alters the brown hue, enabling programmatic simulation of natural wood growth rings and grain variation.
- Low Warping and Strong First-Layer Adhesion: Low thermal shrinkage ensures flat, reliable first-layer bonding to textured PEI sheets, glass beds, and PC surfaces without corner warping or lifting.
- Eco-Friendly with Pleasant Aroma: Releases a pleasant, faint natural wood aroma during extrusion with zero toxic fumes or irritating chemical odors.
- Neat Precision Machine Winding: Even layer-by-layer spool winding prevents tangles, overlaps, and feed jams during long print runs.
Common Applications
- Artisan Sculptures & Decorative Busts: Printing carved-style statues, vintage chess sets, detailed tabletop gaming scenery, and ornamental crafts.
- Architectural & Landscape Models: Fabricating realistic timber framing, scale building components, and detailed architectural mockups.
- Home Décor & Acoustic Products: Crafting decorative indoor planter pots, desk organizers, retro-style speaker baffles, vintage radio housings, and picture frames.
- Cosplay Props & Antique Replicas: Building realistic sword hilts, wand replicas, antique gun stocks, tool handles, and wearable artisan props.
Professional Installation and Maintenance Tips
- Use a 0.4mm or 0.6mm Nozzle: While standard 0.4mm nozzles can be used, a 0.5mm or 0.6mm nozzle provides superior flow reliability and prevents potential micro-fiber clogs during long continuous prints.
- Avoid Idle Hotend Heat Soak: Do not leave the nozzle sitting at printing temperature when the printer is idle, as stagnant wood fibers in the melt zone can char and cause nozzle blockages.
- Sand and Polish for Depth: Lightly sand the model using progressive sandpaper grits (150 to 400 grit) to expose the raw organic wood fibers, then apply a clear timber wax or wood stain to deepen the contrast and texture.
- Store in a Dry Environment: Wood composite filaments are naturally hygroscopic and absorb atmospheric moisture more quickly than standard PLA. Store the spool in a sealed vacuum bag with silica desiccant, or pre-dry at 45°C to 50°C for 4 to 6 hours if popping or surface stringing occurs.
