Product Details

The LED 5mm Green Clear Pack Good Quality (1000Pcs) is a high-volume supply of standard T-1 3/4 (5mm) through-hole light-emitting diodes engineered for high-visibility status panels, industrial automation indicators, custom illumination arrays, optical instrumentation, and commercial electronics manufacturing. Utilizing high-efficiency InGaN (Indium Gallium Nitride) semiconductor die technology paired with a crystal-clear, non-tinted optical epoxy lens, each diode produces a focused, vibrant emerald green beam (515nm–525nm) with luminous output ranging from 15,000 to 20,000 mcd at a narrow 20° to 25° viewing angle. Featuring a standard 2.54mm lead pitch, high energy efficiency, and direct compatibility with 3.3V and 5V logic systems, this bulk pack is tailored for production lines, educational STEM kits, and high-density PCB arrays.

Features

  • Ultra-High Luminous Intensity (Up to 20,000 mcd): Emits a concentrated, high-intensity true green beam providing exceptional daylight visibility and long-range visual signaling.
  • Optical Water-Clear Lens: High-transmittance crystal epoxy encapsulation maximizes photon output without internal spectral filtering.
  • High-Efficiency InGaN Semiconductor Die: Delivers high luminous efficacy with low thermal generation and stable optical performance over extended operational cycles.
  • Clear Physical Polarity Indicators: Features standardized lead-length differentiation (long anode) and a distinct flat notch on the cathode rim of the plastic casing for error-free assembly.
  • Economical 1000-Piece Bulk Pack: High-volume packaging optimized for PCB assembly lines, maker laboratories, school STEM robotics kits, and repair shops.

Common Applications

  • Industrial Status & "Ready/OK" Indicators: High-visibility green indicators for machine operation, safety interlocks, and power online status.
  • Traffic Signaling & Model Railway Lights: Go signals for model railway layouts, miniature traffic lights, and educational robotics arenas.
  • Illuminated Signage & Channel Letters: High-contrast backlighting for acrylic channel letters, lightboxes, and architectural models.
  • Automotive & RC Model Lighting: Running lights, dashboard accents, and scale vehicle illumination.
  • Microcontroller & STEM Prototyping: Breadboard logic circuits, status readouts, and timing experiments using Arduino, ESP32, or Raspberry Pi.

Usage Tips

  • Current-Limiting Resistor (MANDATORY): True green InGaN LEDs exhibit an exponential current rise once forward voltage exceeds 3.0V. Never connect directly across a power rail without a series current-limiting resistor:
    • Calculate using: R = (VSupply - VF) / IF
    • For a 5V DC Supply (IF = 15 mA, VF = 3.1 V): R = (5.0V - 3.1V) / 0.015A ≈ 126.7 Ω → Use a standard 130Ω to 150Ω (1/4W) resistor.
    • For a 12V DC Supply (Single LED at 15 mA): R = (12.0V - 3.1V) / 0.015A = 593 Ω → Use a standard 620Ω to 680Ω (1/4W) resistor.
    • For a 12V DC Supply (3 LEDs in Series at 15 mA): R = [12.0V - (3 × 3.1V)] / 0.015A = 2.7V / 0.015A = 180 Ω → Use a standard 180Ω (1/4W) resistor.
  • Direct 3.3V Logic Driving: When powering directly from 3.3V microcontrollers (ESP32, Raspberry Pi Pico), place a small 10Ω to 22Ω resistor in series to protect the GPIO driver pin from current spikes (Imax ≈ 12 mA).
  • Identifying Polarity:
    • Positive (+ / Anode): Longer lead wire.
    • Negative (- / Cathode): Shorter lead wire, flat-notched edge on the epoxy lens skirt, and larger anvil flag inside the package.
  • Soldering Precautions: Maintain iron temperature between 260°C and 300°C and complete soldering within 3 seconds per lead, keeping the iron tip at least 2mm away from the epoxy body.
  • Optical Safety Warning: Due to the high luminous intensity (20,000 mcd focused beam), avoid staring directly into the bare LED lens at close range during high-current operation.
